Hi, I'm Ben, a drummer from Chicago. I built Jam Session because my own band kept losing
time the same way every time we got together. Nobody wanted to pick the next song, so we'd
flip through the songbook instead of playing.
So I built it. First just for us. It's still rough in places (very much beta), but the
bands using it now are getting back to actually playing music.
What's shipped
- January 2026. Idea was born. Started sketching what it could be.
- February 2026. Started building. Auth, the database, the basics.
- March 2026. First live session with my own band. It worked. We played music.
- April 2026. Round robin mode, session history, magic-link sign-in, install
as an app. Lots of edges sanded down.
- May 2026. Soft launch. Pricing page live, Pro waitlist open, this site shipped.
What's next
- In-app feedback. Drop a note, suggest a feature, report a bug, all from inside
the app.
- Practice mode. For bands learning a set or prepping for a gig. Setlist, but
no live queue.
- Gig mode. For the show itself. Setlist locked in, run sheet up, no surprises
on stage.
- Pro for real. Right now it's a waitlist. Next is making it a thing you can
actually buy.
